After invading the Los Angeles Convention Center earlier this year, the Spa Resort and Medical Spa Expo and Conference is set to take a bite out of the Big Apple as it moves east for the 2007 New York version.

The conference takes place Sept. 8-10, 2007, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. "The addition of new features and education offerings keep the Spa Resort and Medical Spa Expos and Conferences on the leading edge of the medical spa and spa industries," said Eileen Baird, show manager and group vice president. "Medical spa and spa professionals look to us to discover the latest developments in their professions and we are proud to offer an event that caters to both, all under one roof."

Events new to this conference include:

  • The Global Spa Panel will gather industry experts to talk about the evolution of spa menus, product ingredients, equipment and customer service around the globe.
  • The Spa Director's Panel will give exhibitors a chance to gain invaluable sales knowledge as the panel explains the types of products, menus and customer services the industry looks for when making buying decisions.
  • The Spa Sanctuary will allow attendees to receive luxurious spa treatments, while at the same time giving to charity.
  • The more than 20 Manufacturer's Workshops are free to all attendees and will be presented by individual exhibiting companies.
  • The Natural Foods Area will allow attendees to sample the latest trends in healthy spa cuisine.
  • The digital Show Specials online section of the Web site will be updated, with exhibitor-provided information, once a week leading up to the show. This free service will allow attendees to consult an online and exclusive listing of specials, seminars, gifts, discounts, launches, contests and more.
  • The Educational Packages give attendees the opportunity to customize the education that best fits their needs. All packages include entrance to the exhibit hall, networking roundtable event, global spa trends panel, meet the industry leaders program, media speak out session, manufacturer's workshops, spa sanctuary, the Sunday networking cocktail reception and conference proceedings.

Popular events from previous shows that will also be featured at the Javits Center include the spa and medical spa tours, new product showcases and feature areas, the media speak out, the networking roundtable event and the meet the industry leaders gathering.

The new Gold Standard Accredited Education courses for CME, CE and NCEA, taught by industry experts, include Age Management (9 CME hours); Health Care Providers (5 CME hours); Well Women (3 CME hours); Massage Therapist (18 CE hours); Esthetician (6 NCEA hours); and Medical Spa Operation.
