ISPA Consolidates Chapter Structure

In an effort to produce a more unified global front, the International Spa Association (ISPA) has announced its decision to close its Europe and Asia-Pacific chapters effective Sept. 12, 2003. Members of the Europe and Asia-Pacific chapters will retain all membership benefits, and the dissolution of the chapters will have no effect on membership dues.

According to ISPA, the decision to close the chapters will enable the association to remain the authoritative voice of the spa industry without expending energy over internal chapter politics or worrying about the dissemination of conflicting messages. ISPA will continue to provide members with invaluable educational and networking opportunities all over the world, while still offering its members regional benefits through a variety of programs.

Current and former board and regional committee members of the Europe and Asia-Pacific chapters are encouraged to become involved in ISPA leadership through board service, committee work and advisory councils. ISPA currently represents more than 2,000 members in 59 countries, and membership outside North America continues to grow. ISPA fully expects to have events outside of North America, though specific events and dates are still undetermined.
