Tracie Livermore is AMTA’s Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year

The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) is happy to announce that Tracie Livermore of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (CA) is this year’s recipient of the Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year Award.  Each year, AMTA presents this award to an instructor in an AMTA member school who demonstrates exceptional teaching abilities and commitment to high standards of education in massage therapy.  This award honors the memory of Jerome Perlinski, an extraordinary educator and much loved leader.

Tracie has been on the faculty of PCOM since 2002 and was a faculty member at Mueller College of Holistic Studies from 2005-2011. In the words of one of her former students, “She is truly a gifted teacher, who genuinely cares about the health and wellbeing of her students long past the classroom. Tracie Livermore deserves to receive a huge thank you like this from the massage community, she is the voice for so many new and aspiring students, and her passion keeps our community bright and strong. ”

Tracie will receive her award during the AMTA 2014 National Convention, to be held September 17-20 in Denver, Colorado.  She will also be recognized during a celebration luncheon on Teachers Day Friday, September 19.  For more information on Teachers Day, visit www.amtamassage.org/teachersday.

The American Massage Therapy Association is the largest non-profit, professional association serving massage therapists, massage students and massage schools.  The association is directed by volunteer leadership and fosters ongoing, direct member-involvement through its 51 chapters.  AMTA works to advance the profession through ethics and standards, the promotion of fair and consistent licensing of massage therapists in all states, and public education on the benefits of massage.
