New Name, New Directory for the Medical Spa Association

By Editorial Staff

In response to recent international developments in the spa industry, the Medical Spa Association, an ardent supporter of the medical spa industry since its inception in 2002, has announced its recent name change to the International Medical Spa Association (IMSA).

The directory serves as the membership roster of both organizations and plays an important role in both industries, according to Hannelore R. Leavy, founder and executive director the organizations. "In our directory, we clearly show the difference between a true day spa and a salon offering spa services, calling themselves 'salon' and 'day spa,' 'spalon' and other names," she said.
