The Inn at Loretto in Sante Fe, New Mexico opened a new full-service spa in June 2002: Spa Blue. The spa features indigenous treatments such as the Desert Heat Wrap and the Native Desert Sage Massage.

Spa Blue is the fourth spa in Noble House Hotels and Resorts' collection of properties.

Spa directors Shannon Burson and John Moore operate what they believe is the only hospital day spa to offer bedside treatment. The Fitness Centre & Day Spa at Florida Hospital, Celebration Health in Celebration, Florida provides hand and foot massages, manicures and skin therapy to patients during recovery; the cost to patients is $20-$25, depending on the service. The spa plans to expand its list of services to include pedicures and facials.

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina will open its doors August 29, 2002. The 400-room resort will be the first full-service luxury resort on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

The legendary Casa Madrona Hotel in Sausalito, California now features a world-class health spa. The Avanyu Spa offers five massage rooms, a manicure/pedicure room, a wet treatment room, and a variety of body and skin treatments. Built in 1885 as a mansion and converted to a hotel in 1910, the property was restored in 1976 with major renovations, including the addition of 16 hillside cottages.
