Under the terms of a five-year agreement signed in April, La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California is the new home of The Chopra Center for Well Being. The renowned resort now serves as the center's business headquarters and flagship location.

The Chopra Center was originally located La Jolla, California. The center officially reopened at La Costa on May 14 with a wellness program called "Soul of Healing" that featured meditation, spa treatments and other services. La Costa guests now have access to the acclaimed Chopra Center's programs, while center guests receive special group rates at the resort.

Deepak Chopra, MD and David Simon, MD opened The Chopra Center in 1996. Dr. Chopra recognized as a pioneer in the field of mind-body medicine. The Chopra center integrates natural healing traditions with western medicine, offering "a variety of individual and group programs in mind-body medicine and personal development."

Ted Axe, vice president and general manager of La Costa, commented on the partnership: "The Chopra Center is an idea partner for La Costa, in light of our position as a lifestyle spa and golf resort. The center will offer three- and five-day programs, as well as lectures and a la carte treatments for resort guests. This will significantly enhance our guests' experience."
