New York City to Host Spa & Resort Expo and Conference

By Editorial Staff

A tour of the most advanced and luxurious day spas in New York City will highlight the inaugural Spa & Resort Expo and Conference, to be held May 19-20 at the Hilton New York. The expo, organized by Reed Exhibitions, is a marketplace-style convention designed as a meeting ground for spa owners, estheticians, cosmetologists, resort and hotel executives, health care professionals and others to learn about the latest spa products and services.

The "spa tour," available to all exposition attendees, will consist of an exclusive look at three of the most prestigious spas in the Big Apple: The Greenhouse Spa, Oasis on Park, and Ajune.

The tour will depart in the early morning of May 20th.

In addition to the spa tour and the multitude of products and services on display, the expo will also provide graduate-level educational opportunities in the way of a "Spa University." Certification courses will be offered on May 18 and May 21, addressing such topics as:

  • spa management;
  • stone massage and charkas;
  • advanced esthetics;
  • lypossage training zones;
  • hydrotherapies;
  • morpho-lymphatic drainage; and
  • paramedical training.

Commenting on the spa tour, event director Nancy Jo Wiggin enthused: "Our Spa Tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at the leading Manhattan spas that help set the pace for industry advancements, innovative techniques and creative design. We are thrilled to offer this unique opportunity to experience luxurious high-style spas."
