ISPA Elects New President for 2001-2002

By Editorial Staff

Jeff Kohl was elected as president of the International Spa Association (ISPA) at the association's 11th annual conference in Palm Springs, California. Mr. Kohl, the director of spa operations for Princess Cruises, has been an ISPA member since 1996, serving as president of ISPA's education foundation and on the board of directors for four years (three years as treasurer).

Before joining Princess, he worked at a number of prominent spas, including the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in Sonoma, California; the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Florida.

Mr. Kohl also has owned a management consulting business specializing in fitness and spa services for resorts, country clubs and corporations, and served as an advisor to the U.S. Secret Service on facility development at their training center in Washington, D.C.

Commenting on his election and his vision of ISPA, Mr. Kohl enthused:

"We must continue our quest for globalization, and we must boost involvement and recognition for the international membership. Educating consumers and members is a top factor in accomplishing these goals."
