Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa opened in Las Vegas, Nevada in December 2001. A gala event featuring celebrity attendees and a spectacular fireworks display christened the $300-million, 201-room property.

  • The 31,000 square-foot Spa at Pinehurst is scheduled to welcome its first guests on March 27, 2002. Located in Pinehurst, North Carolina, the facility will feature architecture and spa services reflecting the history and tradition of the region.
  • Canyon Ranch SpaClub at Gaylord Palms Resort, Canyon Ranch's third such facility, will open its doors February 2, 2002. The resort is located in Kissimmee, Florida.
  • Seventeen tons of jade boulders were used in the construction of Juvenex, an innovative day spa opening in Manhattan, New York in February 2002. The spa features a thermal jade rock igloo, a jade and red-clay sauna, and a frosted-glass, gem-shaped steam room.
  • The 35,000 square-foot Spa at Cranwell Resort and Golf Club opens in March 2002, touting itself as the largest and most fully equipped spa in New England. The spa is located in Lenox, Massachusetts.
  • Steiner Leisure Limited has renewed its contract with Princess Cruises through 2004. The agreement enables the company to continue providing spa services and fitness programs on Princess' current fleet of 10 ships, and four new rebuilds. Overall, Steiner Leisure Limited provides services on 107 cruise ships, 50 resort spas and 17 luxury day spas.
